Uses : 

Nilavembu Kudineer relieves body ache, fatigue, headache, energy loss, joint pain, muscle ache, and inflammation associated with fever or pyrexia. It works in four ways:

  1. Decrease toxin (AMA) accumulation by AMAPACHAK Action
  2. Lowers temperature due to antipyretic action of Andrographis Paniculata and other herbs present in it
  3. Reduces inflammation by anti-inflammatory action of several ingredients in it
  4. Exerts anodyne action and gives relief from body ache and pains

All these actions play a crucial role in management of all kinds of fevers. In fever, all these actions of Nilavembu Kudineer appear regardless the causative agent. Therefore, whatever the cause of fever, it can be taken for getting relief from the fever and its symptoms. However, patient may also require other medicines along with Nilavembu Kashayam according to the underlying cause.

Additionally, it also has antiviral and antimicrobial characteristics, which make it suitable medicine for the management of viral fevers, so it is generally recommended for Dengue fever and Chikungunya. It is also helpful in people with malaria and typhoid fever.

Dosage : 

The decoction prepared should be prepared using 240 ml water and 2 to 3 teaspoons (around 10 grams) of Nilavembu Kudineer Choornam and it should be heated and simmered to reduce the liquid content to 60 ml. In adults, 60 ml Nilavembu Kudineer herbal drink or decoction is the full dosage, which should be taken twice or thrice daily as per recommendation.

The general dosage of Nilavembu Kudineer Decoction is as follows.
Infants (Age: Up To 12 Months) 2.5 to 5 ml
Toddler (Age: 1 – 3 yrs) 5 ml
Preschooler (3 – 5 yrs) 5 to 7.5 ml
Grade-schooler (5 – 12 yrs) 7.5 to 15 ml
Teenager (13 -19 yrs) 15 to 30 ml
Adults (19 to 60 yrs) 30 to 60 ml
Geriatric (above 60 yrs) 30 to 60 ml
Pregnancy 15 to 30 ml
Lactation 30 to 60 ml
Maximum Possible Dosage 180 ml Per Day (in divided doses)
Twice a day
Best Time to Take: Before Food

There are no side effects observed with Nilavembu Kudineer (Kashayam) when taken in recommended dosage.
